Volkswagen once installed a W10 V10 engine into a BMW E39 M5. This historical engine swap dates back to 1998 when VW, under the leadership of Ferdinand Piëch, was on a mission to develop cutting-edge engines for Bentley and Bugatti. The W10 engine, a mashup of two VR5 engines, was a powerhouse that no existing VW could handle, so the BMW E39 M5 was chosen as the test vehicle. The result? A performance monster with a 25% increase in power and a 10% boost in torque compared to the standard E39 M5. This one-off beast was so impressive that Piëch himself reportedly used it for his personal rides.

"Instant" collector cars like the Chevrolet C7 Corvette ZR1 and C8 Z06, and Porsche’s 911, have been defying depreciation, selling above their MSRP even on the secondary market. But according to Hagerty's data, this trend is slowing down, with values of these high-demand models showing signs of depreciation. Factors like higher interest rates and tighter auto loan standards are making these cars less attainable, putting depreciation back in the driver's seat for some of the hottest modern performance cars.

Chevy likely saw the success of the Mustang EV SUV and figured why not make the entire Camaro lineup an EV? I’m a huge fan of EVs, but the Camaro feels like a car that should always have a large gas powered engine version alongside an EV.
